Carrie Laura is accepting new clients! Do you feel as though you’ve been struggling, carrying the weight of fears and burdens, alone? Are you battling an addiction, anxiety, depression, traumatic/post traumatic stress, or grief and loss? Perhaps you’re the parent or guardian of a school-aged child who’s struggling with behavioral or emotional challenges, or an older-adult feeling isolated and lonely? I want you to know that you are not alone.

She is currently working with clients from 5 to 80 years old, utilizing strengths-based, solution-focused and self-empowerment models. It is her belief that every individual holds the innate power within themselves to heal, grow and thrive; Carrie’s passion is: compassionately and patiently meeting the client where they are, while supporting them towards finding their power. Carrie offers a compassionate and safe-space Monday through Thursday for morning, afternoon and evening sessions, in person and/or by telephone at Apex Behavioral Health Western Wayne P.L.L.C.

Kelly is available Monday and Tuesday for morning, afternoon, and evening sessions in person.  Furthermore, she is available Wednesday and Thursday’s via telehealth.  Kelly attended University of Michigan for her Bachelor of Arts. Earned Masters Degree in Social Work at Wayne State University.  Prior to education, served in the United States Navy active duty for four years (Persian Gulf Era).

Free time activities include: spending time with friends, family and swimming.

She is currently accepting new patients.

Kelly has over twenty years of experience treating individual and families with mental health and substance abuse issues. Volunteers with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America.  She looks forward to hearing your story and continuing your journey of healing together.

Elizabeth (Liz) Yaklin has been working in Michigan in the field of outpatient mental health for over ten years.

Liz works with clients aged twelve and up on themes of depression, anxiety, grief, and other mental health disorders. In addition to her work in Michigan, Liz is also fully licensed in Ohio and has worked in hospice care as well as with adolescents and adults struggling with eating disorders.

She is currently accepting new patients.

Liz is passionate about creating a safe and comfortable space for her clients so that they can focus on managing their mental health.

She is currently is working Tuesday and Thursday in person, if preferred telehealth is available.  Wednesday is currently telehealth only.

Marie has been a licensed masters level social worker, LMSW since 1996.  She graduated in 1994 with her Masters in Social Work, Interpersonal Practice from the University of Michigan. Also, completed my undergraduate degree at Michigan State University with a BA in Psychology and Thematic in Women’s and Gender Studies.

Marie has 30 years of experience working with individuals, couples and families in a variety of settings including outpatient mental health, community based and private organizations. Her work is informed by personal mental health challenges and healing.

She is currently accepting new patients.

We will have an interactive, supportive coaching style that encompasses integrative holistic principles of mental health which includes trauma informed therapy and nutritional psychology.

She is currently taking patients Monday through Friday in person, if preferred telehealth is available.

She likes to meet with clients initially to gather a thorough bio psychosocial assessment, getting all the different aspects of your history or “backstory” to help her understand all the different dimensions of your experience. She will cultivate supportive relationships with clients to guide them towards developing their individual goals with mindfulness training, behavioral analysis, behavioral coaching, family systems, cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior skills to address symptoms of anxiety, depression, adjustment to lifecycle challenges, grief/loss and trauma. She will offer a supportive, sounding board to help process various challenges.  Clients inspire and keep her very grateful and passionate about as to the work she does.

Michael Tucker, LMSW

Michael Tucker received his Master of Social Work degree and his Master of Arts degree from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor).  Mr. Tucker is a licensed MSW, ACSW with certifications in Clinical Macro.  He is also a holder of an MA degree in Counseling with specialty in Mental Health/Substance Abuse Disorders Crisis Intervention.

He is currently accepting new patients.  Michael is available Monday through Thursday; Saturday as well via telehealth.

Mr. tucker has been a licensed professional counselor in the State of Michigan since 1992.  Mr. Tucker is a Clinical Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist receiving his training from the University of Pennsylvania in 2015.  Michal has been on staff at Apex Behavioral Wester Wayne location for 19 years.  Mr. Tucker has provided outpatient mental health and substance services at numerous clinics throughout the Wayne Metro Tri County areas.  With combined professional clinical community experience expanding 48 years.  He has worked for the Dept. of Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Detroit servicing Veterans/Military Families.  The department of Human Services State of Michigan and DPSCD the largest school district in the State of Michigan.  He has worked with individuals/couples, groups, geriatric, adolescent population.

Diane holds a Master degree in Clinical Psychology starting in 1983 as well holds a Master degree in Social Work starting 2005.  She has been practicing psychotherapy for over 41 years and clinical social work for over 20 years.  Diane has work for Apex Behavioral Health for over 25 years.  She works with adults and children.  Her current availability is on Wednesdays for now via telehealth or in office.

Therapy to her is a healing relationship with mutual respect between the client and therapist.  Diane works with multiple issues affecting people ranging from adults to children.  helping people to resolve internal conflicts and to restore well being.  Furthermore, she can work with people who are dealing with serious health issues.
