Joseph Taylor, MA, LPC, PLLC

Information:
Joseph Taylor has spent seven years as an L.P.C. and this has resulted in clinical expertise with traumatized adolescents and adults. A focus on adolescents with histories of suicidal ideation and suicidal attempts is a significant part of the ongoing clinical experience. Joseph has worked with DHS and Child Protective Services for three years. Joseph has been working with MDOC Inmates on-site addiction groups and off-site parolees.

Joseph Specializes in: Suicide Risk Assessment, Co-Occurring Disorders, and Clinical Supervision of LLPC's

Joseph sees clients aged: teenager, adult, and senior. Joseph works all day Monday and he is available until 4 pm on Tuesdays.

He works primarily with At Risk Adolescents and Substance Abuse Therapy (Circuit Court Referrals) since 2012.

Certifications/Licensures: Joseph studied at Spring Arbor University and has received his BA in Biology in 1985, his MA in Organizational Management in 2002, and his MA in Community Counseling in 2006.

Joseph is a member of the American Mental Health Counseling Association and the Michigan Mental Health Counseling Association.

Joseph is very involved in his community. He has helped with the Red Cross Training and Certification for Mass Disaster Mental Health, the American Association of Christian Counselors training in CISM, The Dearborn Chamber of Commerce Volunteer (Previous Chamber Ambassador), and The Connections Church in Canton, MI for Care and Counseling Ministry.

Gina graduated with her MSW from the University of Michigan.

She sees clients aged 18 to 108 years old, however, she will serve families with younger children.

Gina works every Tuesday and Thursday. In addition to performing Drivers License Evaluations, she can assess for substance or alcohol abuse.

She specializes in disorders such as: addiction, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, and divorce.

Gina is licensed in individual, family, and couples therapy. Gina is in ongoing training; obtaining 45 hours of continuing education every three years.

Gina also provides the SASSI test for substance abuse.

Her goal is to provide encouragement, education, and support to her clients while providing a safe, therapeutic environment for self improvement to enhance one's lifestyle.

Dr. Hoda Amine is a well known personality in the Arabic Community. She works in the Dearborn counseling services as the director of the Arab Domestic Violence Intervention Program.

Dr. Amine sees child, adolescent, and adult clients. She works in Westland Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Dr. Amine specializes in disorders such as: substance abuse, mood disorders, and both victims and batterers of domestic violence. Dr. Amine works with individual, family, and marital counseling.

Dr. Amine has worked with children with disabilities, women's issues, ADD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, and victims of torture or wars.

In May 2004, Dr. Amine was invited through ADC delegates to Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon to meet with Queen Rania of Jordan and the first two ladies of Syria and Lebanon. Dr. Amine is a concerned community activist and advocate humanitarian supporting and fighting for justice for the elderly, children, human rights, and women's issues.

Dr. Amine is the recipient of several awards: NASW (National Associations of Social Worker), 2011 Michigan Social Worker of the Year, and the Susan B. Anthony Humanitarian Award from the University of Michigan. In addition, she has also received: the "Spirit Award" from the Wayne County Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, the "Loretta Moore 2003 Woman of the Year" award from the National Organization of Women, and "2002 Woman of the Year Award" from Henry Ford Community College.

Dr. Amine is a faculty advisor on Arab culture and Ethnicity/Multicultural Work Groups through the University of Michigan Dearborn. Dr. Amine is a board member on the Child's Hope advocacy program with Child Abuse Prevention Council. She has been a member of the Wayne County Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Intervention Coalition Council for over 8 years.

Dr. Amine has been on several radio and TV shows locally and nationally. She has helped with telethons and walkathons, including the Nicole Brown Charitable Foundation and the Domestic Violence Coalitions. Dr. Amine has traveled to over 50 countries throughout the world.

Alicia's preferred approach to therapy is to use cognitive behavioral techniques with holistic mindfulness philosophy. This type of therapy is called Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and is useful for teaching people how to manage: stress, anxiety, depression, mood swings, anger, difficult relationships, and situations that often lead to feeling out of control of your life.

Alicia will use a combination of therapies best suited to each client, such as: cognitive behavioral therapy, humanistic psychology, positive psychology, and reality therapy.
